The second China-US Governors Forum was held in Tianjin on April 16, 2013 to provide Chinese governors and their US counterparts the opportunity to discuss economic and trade cooperation and environmental management.
The forum was co-hosted by Li Xiaolin, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and Iowa Governor Terry Branstad.
The mayor of Tianjin Huang Xingguo delivered speeches during the discussions on topics including The Challenges and Opportunities for China, US to Invest in Each Other and The Current Situation and Possible Solutions for Environmental Governance.
On the Chinese side, Hebei governor Zhang Qingwei, Heilongjiang’s acting governor Lu Hao, Fujian governor Su Shulin and Guangxi’s acting chairman Chen Wu were able to attend the forum.
The US delegation included Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Reta Jo Lewis, Secretary of State John Kerry’s special representative for global intergovernmental affairs.
