Topic: Tianjin minumum wage enough to support a family?
Tianjin will raise its minimum wage in April, joining a new round of wage hikes nationwide in a bid to attract workers and buffer rising living costs, it was announced on Tuesday.

Minimum monthly salaries for full-time workers will be raised by 12.9 percent to 1,310 yuan (208 U.S. dollars) starting next month, according to a statement from the Tianjin municipal bureau of human resources and social security.

The minimum pay for part-time jobs will rise by the same percentage, to 13.1 yuan per hour, it said.

I don't think a full-time worker can support a family with the minimum wage which is just $208 for a month, if he is the only one who has job (in case his partner is disabled or in other conditions).

He/she has to pay half of their salary for their living room, and another half for their living expenses. What if they have a baby, how can they pay for the formula powder, diaper? What if they are struck by illness? Does the government has other policies? I heard most of the poor Chinese don't have medical insurances.

Tianjin is a nice and prosperous city, I am in no place to jeopardize its economic growth.

what? The minimum wage is only 1310 yuan..far from enough!!!The gap between the rich and the poor is the most contradiction in China..careful,the Chinese government..

I am planning to move to Tianjin, maybe I should reconsider it now..

Amid protests across the country over retail and service careers that compensation insignificant meliorate than the least attempt, it is amiable to overlook that this return standard earlier meant something somewhat strange.
