An expansion of the Tianjin International Cruise Home Port has been planned in order to encourage the cruise tourists and ships which are flocking to the city. The Phase II construction will add a 422-meter coastline to the terminal. Berths reserved for the Tianjin-Kobe cruise ship Yanjing and the Tianjin-Inchon cruise ship Tianren have also been planned. The two berths are scheduled to be open to ro-ro ships during vacant period for Yanjing and Tianren . They will have the capacity to store 100,000 vehicles and 60,000 TEUs of containers per year. Tianjin expects at least 57 cruise ship visits next year

Next year, there will be at least 57 cruise ships visiting Tianjin, according to Zhang Zhendong, general manager of Tianjin international cruise home port.   China has set up the first domestic cruise management company this year and has introduced a luxury cruise ship from abroad, which is expected to be put into operation in January 2013. 60 cruise ship visits expected at Tianjin Int'l Cruise Home Port in 2013

60 visits from luxury cruse liners will be made at the Tianjin International Cruise Home Port (TICHP) in 2013, up 67 percent from a year earlier.
